The Area & History
Robert Thomas Farms is an arable farm in Nottinghamshire, covering 2,500 acres of sandy soil with full irrigation.
The area of the farm includes land North to Bilsthorpe, South to Burnt Stump Lane, West to Skegby and East to Oxton.
The business was formed as a partnership in 1983 between Richard and his late father Robert, now operated by Richard Thomas as a sole trader.
International and Sustainable
- The farm incorporates Haywood Oaks Farm, Two Oaks, Fishpond Farm, Inkersall Grange, Allamoor, Moorfield, Patchings, Sansom Wood, Little Tithe and Archer’s Water.
- 10 full time workers are employed on the farm. Robert Thomas Farms has also been employing people from Eastern Europe for a number of years during the Asparagus harvest season.
- Robert Thomas Farms is a founder member of Fresh Growers Ltd., a Member of the Soil Association, EMGRO, LEAF and TESCO’s Nurture standard.

Robert Thomas Farms launched HLS Scheme in December 2008 and the rest of land was added during 2009. Chosen options include:
